Mr Lyn Thompson B.Sc.(hons), F.C. Optom

 

Born in Bridgend, South Wales, and raised in Port Talbot. Attended City University, London 1974-1977 and qualified in 1978. I recently retired as Chairman of South Cheshire Local Optometric Committee. Obtained City University Certificate in Optometric Continued Education by Distance Learning in 1999. I have a special interest in diabetic eye care, being accredited for the diabetic retinopathy screening services in both Cheshire and Staffordshire.

 

 

Amy Thompson B.Sc.(hons), M.C. Optom

 

I am Congleton born and bred, having attended Quinta County Primary school and The Kings School in Macclesfield before studying optometry at City University, London, from which I graduated with an honours degree in 2005.

My pre-registration year was spent at the practice before qualifying in July 2006.

I have City University Msc higher qualifications in Binocular vision, Paediatric visual development, Contact Lenses and Dry Eye, Glaucoma, Diabetes, Therapeutics, Anterior eye conditions and Vision in the Aged which i have gained whilst studying for my Masters.

I run our dry eye clinic and am accredited in Cheshire and Staffordshire on the Diabetic Retinopathy screening, OHT and Glaucoma shared care service, Cataract pre and post, paediatric shared care and acute eye schemes. But my specialist interest is in childrens eye development. i have worked within Macclesfield and Leighton hospital orthoptic departments.

In my spare time I like to keep active, I compleated the 2011 London marathon in 4hrs 55mins and raised money for Vision Aid Overseas. I have been on 3 Vision Aid projects to Ethiopia, Zambia and India. I now have 2 children who keep me pretty busy!
